Contracts and Specifications

We aim to provide a high quality service by engaging with clients and ensuring that we go the extra mile, whilst being price competitive by minimising our overheads.

We have vast experience writing technical contracts and specifications for the procurement of ITS equipment, covering all items from the supply and installation of a simple pedestrian crossing, to the provision of an authority wide Urban Traffic Control system.

We are able to undertake supplier technical interviews, prepare and review questionnaire submissions to help clients choose the right contractor/supplier for systems and services for highway authorities.

We are familiar with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and the Specification for Highway Works (Series 1200), meaning that our advice is in line with the latest requirements.

Members of Green Signals Consulting are well respected within the industry and have prepared and contributed to advisory and standards (MCE &TR) documentation for the Department for Transport (DfT) and UK Roads Board.

For smaller schemes such as small highway improvements as part of Section 106 (Town and Country Planning Act 1990) agreements, we can undertake the design and specification of any signing and signals works, including TR2500 Controller Specification preparation.

We often undertake Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of UTC/Common Database systems and signal controllers, acting as either client or contractors representative. This is an important role that ensures the specifications and performance criteria have been met.
